Adding and manipulating images - Draw a Picture Adding and manipulating images - SWF Animations

Hmm, the third Image Button has the kitty cat picture with some crayons ON TOP of it. The button with just the cat on it is used to add a picture to a page in your story. The button with the crayons on it allows you to make a drawing for the page.

What does this button let you do?

It will let you draw on top of an image.

If you click the button it will bring up the drawing program described here. The difference is that when you start drawing, you will be drawing right on top of the original picture. Instead of removing the image that already occupies the Image area of the page, this will leave the picture in the Image Area. When you start to draw, you will be drawing on top of the picture.

Here’s a typical example of what you can do with it. I started with a photo of a child. Then I clicked the ‘Draw On Picture’ Button. Next I proceeded to draw right on top of the picture. As you can plainly see, my granddaughter now has a pink nose and pussy cat whiskers. It took me only a few seconds to transform the picture from a photo to something a lot more whimsical.

As mentioned in the previous lesson, you can also use this method to draw on top of another drawing.

Huh? What the heck does that mean?

Simple. When you finish drawing something (using the drawing tools) and save that page, it is saved in the same format as any other picture. If you want to make changes to that picture at some future time, simply click the ‘Draw On Picture’ Button, and DRAW ON THE PICTURE!
